Reyen is 3 months old

 3 Months Old!
I can't believe three months have passed. It seems like Reyen has been in our family forever and fits in just perfect. She has definately brought with her a peaceful spirit to our family. She is a ray or sunshine and brightens our family. I can't be mad or sad looking at her. She always has a smile for me.

In 3 months Reyen has already mastered so much. Here are a few things she does now;
  • She can see and focus on everything. Loves to watch everything.
  • Has found what her hands are good for. She has found they are a comfort to her. She started sucking on her hands when I stopped giving her the pacifier all the time and has just recently found her thumb.
  • Sleeps between 9-10 hours at night. I haven't tried more just for the fact that she might stop this.
  • She loves to look, talk and smile at people. She doesn't sleep well in the afternoon and evening due to so much going on.
  • Loves to have a blanket covering her face when she goes to sleep.
  • Weighs around 10 lbs and measured 24 inches long. Has out grown 0-3 months. She is so long I am putting her in 6 month clothes. They are big around the tummy but it's better than having high waters.
  • Smiles when Rylan sings "oo la la, cha cha cha, pumpkin eaters are stinkers". He came up with this and I can't get him to change it.
  • Is enjoying her tummy more. She tends to watch tv with Mike. I don't support that but I want her to have dad time too so I put her on her tummy and if she wants to watch tv she has to lift her head. It has worked, but sometimes she is too tired and that's just fine with me.
  • Likes to play peek a boo.
  • Likes to have books read to her.

Camden is enjoying time close to Reyen. He can hold her now without his cast and not hurt her. He loves to kiss and cuddle with her.

These pants were too short for Reyen so I just rolled them up into shorts. I am sad to see cooler weather but love the changing seasons. Soon Reyen will be bundled up to stay warm.

Camden's broken arm is whole

Camden went to the doctor for his arm on Wednesday. He was really excited. If he had to have another cast he said he would pick black. The orange got really dirty. Here is the before pictures.

Here is the saw they used to cut the cast off. Camden was a little scared even though he's had it done before.

This isn't a good picture but it's all I've got of the x-ray they took. I was feeding Reyen at the time and taking pictures. Not something to try if you want a good picture. The Dr said everything looked good. His bone is healed. The only restrictions Camden has is to keep his feet on the ground. No playgrounds, tramps, or bikes. Pretty much the same thing as before for about another month.

Camden wasn't sure about his arm. He kept it close to his body. The Dr said that is normal and he should be using it more tomorrow. He is doing great with it and using it to work in the dirt already.

The dirty, ugly cast.
Camden wanted to keep it but I told him we'd take a picture so he can remember it.
He didn't really want to touch it so it's a good thing we didn't take it home. It would just stink.

Here is what Camden's arm looks like now without his cast. Dirty with old skin. It should come off in the shower.
I am once again amazed at how Jesus created our bodies. How they can heal by themselves and be like new. We can see on Camden's arm the spot where he broke his bone. It had almost broken through the skin.
I'm so glad Camden is doing well. I'm glad he is all healed. It has been an answer to our prayers. He has been very blessed. Now if we can just stay out of the emergency room.

Rylan finally lost another tooth

September 23, 2014 Rylan lost his third tooth. It has been almost a year since he lost his bottom two teeth. The dentist said it was okay and not to worry until after her turned 8. About his gap, it may not be bad after his big teeth come in. We have to wait and see.
Rylan came home from school saying he got hit in the face with a ball while playing soccor and lost his tooth. Thank goodness it was a little one and already loose. He was really excited about it.

Up Close: What Reyen's been up to 9-12 weeks

I finally got a picture of Reyen smiling. She has a little dimple on her left cheek and it melts my heart.

Reyen is learning how to use her tongue. I love to wake up to her talking in bed. She always has a big smile for me. The boys love to get a smile from her and try so many things.

These pictures are random ones I have taken. I'm not sure how old she was but it's between 9-12 weeks. She is so alert and aware of everything.

Reyen loves to look around. One of her favorite spots is to lay on my pillow. She smiles a lot and talks to everyone. She also hangs out with dad there. It's where she can watch tv. I don't think she can actually see it but she is fascinated with it when it's on. The other night I was trying to put her down to bed and she was watching tv. I told her it was sleep time and she turned her head so that she wouldn't see it. Now that was amazing. Surprisingly, Reyen goes to sleep with the tv on pretty well. Dad was sad when I tried to put her down without it but we have found that she can go down both ways, sometimes with the tv on better. Dad sure is happy about that.

Rylan loves to hold Reyen. He is always asking to hold and feed her. In this picture he had just fed Reyen and she had gone back to sleep. He didn't dare move because he was loving the cuddles. She looked happy too.

Reyen gets to swing when she doesn't want to sleep in her bed. She use to do it a lot but now she seldom does and uses to the swing to play with her toys.

Elsie and Dad Campout

Two weeks ago Elsie invite dad to a father daughter camp out with uncle Dave's ward.
This was the first time Mike hasn't been working nights that he could go. Elsie was worried he wouldn't want to go but I told her she needed to invite him before making other plans with grandpa. She has been planning this camp out since last year. She had a list of everything she needed to take and has been saving treats to take with her. Needless to say, Elsie was very excited.

Mike agreed to go but then thought he could get out of the camping part if he took her on a date to the movies instead so he could sleep in his bed. I was unaware of his invite until Elsie told me about it. I smiled knowing what Elsie would choose. Mike lost. I told him it would be really easy because he would only have one kid and she could take care of herself. Elsie was so excited she got the pop up trailer all cleaned and ready to go.

The day of the camp out came and Elsie used a coupon she got at school for doing well to get drinks for their ride. She even spent her own money to buy dad treats. What an awesome daughter. Mike was able to get some rest that night because he let Elsie stay up and watch a movie with the other girls. They got to do some fun things;
a candy cannon
horseback riding
bb guns
movie
Elsie came home one happy girl. What an awesome dad she has. Mike was running on maybe an hour of sleep. I don't know how he does it except that the Lord has truly blessed him to be able to run on less than normal sleep on a daily basis. Boy, do I love this handsome man!

Maybe next year Reyen can go with them. She will be 1 year old then.

The boys and I had popcorn and watched a movie. Reyen didn't but slept really well and could have cared less. The boys were really sad they couldn't go. I don't think it was a fair trade off. Mike got one kid and I had 5? I'd gladly do it again to see these two smile so much. Mike's was more of a smirk but I'll take it.

Camden's 2nd cast on his broken arm

Camden went back to the hosptial to see how his arm was doing. They took xrays to see if his elbow is healing good. I stayed out in the hall while the xrays were taken. When Camden was done Mike said it didn't look good I was starting to worry. But when the dr cae in she said everything looked great. What Mike saw was normal and good. Camden is growing lots of bone.

They took the black cast off and gave him another one because those bone apparently takes longer to heal. Camden chose orange. When they cut the cast off they used some kind of saw.  Cam was really scared until the nurse told him it tickles. He even
got to touch it. When the cast came off he was very worried about his arm. It looks much better than a month ago.

Camden was still very worried about his arm. We go in next week to see if he gets his cast off.
